The purpose of this program is to recognize Quarter Horse owners who exhibit
their Quarter Horses in competition with other breeds outside of Quarter horse
shows in Pennsylvania and the surrounding states.
NOMINATIONS: There is a nomination fee of $5.00 per horse/rider combination
per category and a nomination fee of $5.00 for the high point horse (Adult
or Youth). No points will count unless both the membership and nomination
fees have been paid.
GENERAL:
1. Register- you must be a member in good standing with the PQHA. The horse
you ride or use must be registered with AQHA and nominated with the PQHA for
the given year.
2. Sale of horse- Transfer of ownership will not affect accumulated points
of the same horse in open division, provided the new owner is a PQHA member
and the point chairperson is notified of the transfer.
3. Postmark- In order to receive points for a show, your membership in PQHA
and your nominations must be postmarked one day prior to the show date in
order for your points to count.
ELIGIBILITY:
PQHA will recognize and award points for a year-end award in those open shows
which our members have participated, providing:
1. The show management, organization or affiliate must have a record keeping,
governing body that will sign PQHA's verification form. NO SUBSTITUTE FORMS
ACCEPTED!
2. The exhibitor/owner submits a properly executive PQHA Open Show Exhibitor's
Report and a show flyer to the point chairperson. This MUST be completed and
postmarked within 10 days after the show, except after the 2nd weekend in
October they must be postmarked by the following Tuesday in October for the
points to count.
3. Shows open to all breeds qualify and no special membership requirements
are needed to show. Registered breed shows, color shows, 4-H round up, District,
and State Shows do not count.
4. The horse show season is considered to run from the 1st full weekend in
April to the 2nd full weekend of October.
POINTS: Points to count for year-end awards will be based on your ONE
HIGHEST PLACING CLASS IN EACH CATEGORY ONLY PER SHOW with a maximum of 20
placings out of 30 shows to count.

CATEGORIES:
ADULT: 19 & over as of January 1
YOUTH: 18 & under as of January 1
English: Performance points under English tack/attire, must Walk, Trot &
Canter.
Western: Performance points under Western tack/attire, must Walk, Trot &
Canter
Trail: Points earned in Trail class - English or Western tack
Times Events: Points earned in any and all timed events
Halter/Showmanship: Conformation and/or in-hand classes
Walk-Trot: English or Western tack/attire only Walk & Trot
THERE WILL BE A HIGH POINT & RESERVE YOUTH & HIGH POINT & RESERVE
ADULT YEAR-END AWARD GIVEN (YOU MUSTNOMINATE FOR THIS)
NOTE:
· Events such as Egg & Spoon, Break & Out, Command, etc. will
not count for any of the divisions.
· Points to count for one horse and rider combination ONLY
· Exhibitor/owner is responsible for a photocopy of the PQHA exhibitors
report and sending the completed form, which includes the open competition
form and the show class schedule, to the point chairperson, so points will
be counted.
· In the event of a tie, the first tiebreaker will be the total number
of horses defeated in the course of the year.
· The cut-off date for any adjustments in the point standings for April
1 through July 31 will be August 31 of the current year. For shows from August
1 through September 30, the cut-off date will be October 31. After these dates,
the point chairperson's figures will be considered official.
