JOIN THE PENNSYLVANIA AMATEUR QUARTER HORSE ASSOCIATION TODAY! WHAT IS PAQHA? The Pennsylvania Amateur Quarter Horse Association is comprised of American Quarter Horse Owners who are also amateurs exhibitors. The purpose of PAQHA is to foster relations between Pennsylvania Quarter Horse owners who enjoy competing with their American Quarter Horse at AQHA approved shows, and in open show competition. WHAT DOES PAQHA HAVE TO OFFER? PAQHA offers many programs that promote camaraderie and healthy competition between members. PAQHA also sponsors an Annual Used Clothing & Tack Sale, Amateur Team Tournament competition, and State Superiors & Performance Championships. WHO CAN JOIN PAQHA?: Any person owning a registered American Quarter Horse, and having an Amateur membership to AQHA is eligible for membership. Annual Dues: $10.00 (In order to have voting rights, membership in at least one of the PA Quarter Horse Associations is required.) Pennsylvania Amateur Quarter Horse Association Tack Sales 2008

PAQHA will hold their annual tack sale twice in 2008!

First tack sale will be held in conjunction with the PQHA Winning Ways Clinic March 15-16, 008 at the PSU Ag Center, State College, PA
Sale will be held all day on Saturday and 2 hours on Sunday- no consignments that day. (Admission to the clinic is required to attend tack sale)

Second tack sale to be held in conjunction with the PSU Horse Sale April 26, 2008 at the PSU Ag Center, State College, PA
Sale will be held all day on Saturday and admission is free.

If you can't make the first one, we'll see you at the second one. Better yet, come to both!

Pennsylvania Amateur Quarter Horse News

Used Tack & Clothing Sales- This year we will be holding two. The first will be along with the Winning Ways Clinic March 15th and 16th at the Penn State Ag Arena. The second will be April 26th along with the PSU Horse Sale also at the Ag Arena. Workers are greatly appreciated, and consignors always taken. Team Tournament- Do we have some changes for you! This year we have totally revamped the team tournament. ALL teams will be selected by random draw. It is simple. If you want to participate in the tournmanet all you have to do is nominate. Names will be drawn out of a hat on May 1st. Points will be kept from March 15th until October 15th. Your top 15 shows will count. You may be only on one team. The complete list of rules will be coming soon. Keep looking in the newsletter, or online for them. Annual Meeting- We had a very productive meeting December 1st at the Penn Stater in State College. Many items were discussed and several things were changed with the biggest two being our tack sale, and team tournament. We will try some different approaches to help keep our organization user friendly, and better serve our membership. We welcomed two new members onto the board of directors: Cayce Walters, and Sarah Welteroth, and Michelle Smith is the new Treasurer of the association. The complete list of officers and diretors is listed previous. Thank you to all who attended, and who support the amateur association throughout the year.

Meet our members: Jeanne L. Hamerly is a member working on a different avenue of riding then some of us. She is training dressage. She rides sidesaddle and participates in demonstrations. To keep her horse limber she also does demonstrations and clinics on Equine Massage, stretching, and joint release! Jeanne is married with one child. She has been involved with horses for 26 years. Her other interests are history, nature, and animals.
